Sogolytics\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sogolytics.com\/help\/distribute-tab-tour\/\">Distribution Dashboard<\/a> tracks survey participation for you and shows survey results as they happen. This post gives you an overview of its features and how you can use this information to get higher open rates, better response rates, and decrease bounces and unsubscribes.<\/p>\n<div class=\"div-minispacer\"><\/div>\n<p>To track a survey you\u2019ve already sent out, go to <b>Launch a Survey<\/b>, select your survey, and click <b>Track Survey<\/b>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"div-minispacer\"><\/div>\n<p>You\u2019ll see an overview of your survey in two forms: graph view and report view.<\/p>\n<div class=\"div-minispacer\"><\/div>\n<h2>Graph View<\/h2>\n<p>The bar chart at the top gives you a snapshot of invitations and responses by all the different ways you published your survey. In the example below, the survey was distributed via email (Single Access URL), website (Multi-Access URL), and offline (Survey Access Codes). For the example below, I clicked on <b>Single Access URL<\/b>. The table displayed at the bottom lets you really drill down and see more details about your survey. For example, you may want to see all the bounced email addresses. Just click the little drop down arrow next to <b>Status<\/b> at the top of the report.<\/p>\n<div class=\"div-minispacer\"><\/div>\n<p>So, what else can you do with this report? You can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>View individual responses<\/li>\n<li>See why an email bounced<\/li>\n<li>Unsubscribe someone<\/li>\n<li>Deactivate a survey link<\/li>\n<li>Export to Excel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"div-minispacer\"><\/div>\n<h2>View individual responses<\/h2>\n<p>Want to see how someone responded to the survey? Click on their email address. Of course, they have to have completed the survey.<\/p>\n<div class=\"div-minispacer\"><\/div>\n<h2>See why an email bounced<\/h2>\n<p>Click the red exclamation point next to the bounced email under <b>Delivery Status<\/b>. This will show you whether it was a soft bounce or a hard bounce.<\/p>\n<div class=\"div-minispacer\"><\/div>\n<p>A hard bounce happens when the email address isn\u2019t good anymore, such as when someone leaves the company. A soft bounce happens in cases where the email address is legitimate, but the mailbox may be full or the server went offline when you sent out the emails. Give the details to your email administrator to help determine why emails are bouncing.<\/p>\n<div class=\"div-minispacer\"><\/div>\n<h2>Unsubscribe someone<\/h2>\n<p>To unsubscribe someone from receiving any emails about this survey in the future, select their email address and click <b>Opt Out<\/b>. You can select <b>Cancel Opt Out<\/b> if you need to add them back to the list for some reason. (Go to the <b>Master Log<\/b> to permanently unsubscribe an email address from the system.)<\/p>\n<h2>Deactivate a survey link<\/h2>\n<p>The <b>Delete<\/b> button deactivates a survey link for that email address for this particular survey. BE CAREFUL \u2013 if someone has completed the survey, this will delete all their responses permanently. If you select <b>Delete All<\/b>, all the invitations listed and their responses will be deleted forever! If you want to delete multiple invitations, check the box next to each invitation and click <b>Delete<\/b>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"div-minispacer\"><\/div>\n<h2>Export to Excel<\/h2>\n<p>When you select <b>Export<\/b>, the entire distribution table is exported to Excel where you can further sort and analyze the data. In addition, the exported report lists all the unique keys and URLs generated for each email. This is very helpful if someone didn\u2019t get the email or lost the link. You can then email the URL to that person in a separate email.<\/p>\n<h2>What do you do with all this information?<\/h2>\n<p>Analyzing the Distribution Dashboard can help you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Decide whether you need to send reminders<\/b> \u2013 Do you have a lot of non-participants? You may want to schedule some reminders and try sending those in plain text vs. HTML to see if it increases participation.<\/li>\n<li><b>Get higher open rates<\/b> \u2013 If most of your emails weren\u2019t opened, you can create a new \u201cDid Not Open\u201d list, experiment with different email subject lines and send them out again.<\/li>\n<li><b>Improve response rates<\/b> \u2013 You can segment those who completed the survey into a new email list and send future surveys to that group.<\/li>\n<li><b>Decrease unsubscribes and bounces<\/b> \u2013 See what your unsubscribe rate is and test\u00a0different variables to reduce that. Troubleshoot bounced emails to clean up your list.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I think you\u2019ll agree that the Distribution Dashboard is a powerhouse of information!
