When you invest in fostering a positive corporate culture the results are clear.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAccording to E&amp;Y, 55 percent of the FTSE 350 companies have seen a 10 percent increase in operating profits driven by their investment in culture,\u201d Barrett tells us. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cOverall 92 percent of the Board Members of these companies said a focus on culture has improved their financial performance.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What does a positive work culture look like?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><strong><i>Trust and engagement<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cLeaders and organizations need to embrace and live their most deeply held values because that is how they generate trust,\u201d says Barrett.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trust is critical for productivity because \u201cemployees are more willing to do all they can for leadership when they are confident leadership will have their backs,\u201d note authors Osborne and Hammoud in an article focused on <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarworks.waldenu.edu\/cgi\/viewcontent.cgi?article=1239&amp;context=ijamt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">effective employee engagement<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And Stephen Covey states in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Speed of Trust,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201cTrust always affects outcomes\u2014speed and cost. When trust goes up, speed will also go up, and costs will go down. When trust goes down, speed will also go down, and costs go up.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><i>Autonomy<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After trust is built, you need to show your faith by getting out of your employees\u2019 way and listening to them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhen employees are competent and recognized, group dynamics converge to create a sense of ownership of outcomes, workplace environment, and organization,\u201d report the authors of a study on ethical leadership in the Journal of Business Ethics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And Osborne &amp; Hammoud tell us that there\u2019s value in listening to your employees vent. It\u2019s a great way to find out what they need to succeed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><i>Well-being<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWork-related stress has become a major issue all over the world.
