I love surveys. I love asking questions, getting answers, and learning something new.<\/p>\n<div class=\"div-minispacer\"><\/div>\n<p>But sometimes, I want more. Beyond the single-select answer sets, beyond the rating scales, and even beyond the character constraints of even the most generous text box, there\u2019s more to the story. Not everything can be boiled down to statistics and charts and graphs.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you\u2019re scientifically minded, you might be thinking: Yes, focus groups! Case studies!<\/li>\n<li>If you trend toward the humanities, like me, you\u2019re probably thinking: Yes! Story time!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No matter your preferences, there\u2019s a good chance you\u2019re spending some time around a table with friends and family this week. Thanksgiving is the perfect time for digging in &#8212; and not just into that dreamy pile of mashed potatoes I\u2019m eagerly anticipating.<\/p>\n<div class=\"div-minispacer\"><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Where is this headed? The National Day of Listening aka <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/storycorps.org\/participate\/the-great-thanksgiving-listen\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Great Thanksgiving Listen<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> aka Friday!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"div-minispacer\"><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This Friday, it\u2019s time to celebrate the deep data dive that is a good conversation. Storytelling, listening, and learning are the driving forces behind <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/storycorps.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">StoryCorps<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the organization that spearheads this effort.
