                                    Home Participation Save on Next

                                    Save on Next

Even as you move forward, you never forget where you’ve been—and the same principle applies to survey responses. The Save on Next feature ensures that a participant’s responses are automatically saved as they proceed through the survey. Each time a participant clicks the Next button on any survey page, their partial responses are saved locally in their browser, helping prevent data loss if the survey is not completed.

Auto Save is enabled by default for all Enterprise accounts. For other plans, please refer to the complete feature list for availability details.

This feature is particularly useful for surveys that span multiple pages, especially when participants may not be able to complete the entire survey in a single session. However, the way this feature functions depends on the type of invitation used to distribute the survey.

                                    This Feature Applies To

                                    • Single-use link (Email Invites, SMS, Survey Passwords)
                                    • Multi-use link (Email Invites, Shareable URLs)

                                    How Save on Next Works

Each time a participant clicks Next, their responses on the current page are saved locally on their device. These locally saved responses are then processed in the backend and begin appearing under Track within approximately one hour.

This ensures that previously answered questions are preserved even if the participant abandons the survey midway.

Save on Next for Single-Use Links

For Single-Use links, responses are saved locally whenever the participant clicks Next. Once backend processing is completed, the partial responses begin appearing under Track within approximately one hour.

The participant can resume the survey using the same email link and continue from where they left off, even if they switch to a different browser or device.

Save on Next for Multi-Use Links

For Multi-Use links and Shareable URLs, responses are saved locally in the same browser and device each time the participant clicks Next. After backend processing is completed, the responses begin appearing under Track within approximately one hour.

The participant can resume the survey only from the same browser and device. If the survey is accessed from a different browser or device, the participant will need to start the survey from the beginning.

                                    Important Note on Multi-Use Links

When using a Multi-Use link with a defined response limit, the limit is evaluated only based on responses that are visible under Track.

If the locally saved responses have not yet been processed and do not appear under Track, they are not counted toward the response limit. As a result, if multiple participation attempts occur before backend processing is completed, each attempt will be recorded as a separate response once processing is finished.

This may cause the total number of recorded responses to exceed the configured response limit for the Multi-Use link.

The same behavior applies when Blocked by Cookie or Blocked by IP restrictions are enabled. These restrictions are enforced only on responses that are already visible under Track. Therefore, if multiple attempts occur before processing is completed, additional responses from the same browser or IP address may still be recorded.

By default, Auto Save is disabled on Assessments.
