If all of your responses so far come from a single location &mdash; say, the United States &mdash; Maps opens zoomed to the US rather than to the full world.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/mapnav.png\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"section-3\">Reading the Map<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#oe-the-map-canvas\">The Map Canvas<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#oe-region-details-on-hover\">Region Details on Hover<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#oe-drilling-down-through-geographic-levels\">Drilling down through geographic levels<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"oe-the-map-canvas\">The Map Canvas<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Each region is shaded by its score for the selected metric, using the three-band legend (Red, Orange and Green).<\/li>\n<li>Regions with no responses are left unshaded (neutral grey).<\/li>\n<li>Zoom in or out using the <strong>+<\/strong> and <strong>&minus;<\/strong> controls in the bottom-right corner, your mouse wheel, or trackpad pinch gestures.<\/li>\n<li>Click and drag to pan horizontally and explore additional locations.<\/li>\n<li>Hover over a location to see its metric score, sentiment, themes, and emotions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"sogo-help-info-box\">\n    <i class=\"fal fa-info-circle\"><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"sogo-info-text\">\n        To view Sentiment Analysis, the <a href=\"\/help\/how-analyze-follow-up-questions-with-text-analysis-on-cx-dashboard\/\"><b>AI-Driven Text Analysis Report<\/b><\/a> must be enabled for your account. Additionally, sentiment analysis is performed only on survey questions designated as <strong>Follow-up<\/strong> questions.\n    <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"oe-region-details-on-hover\">Region Details on Hover<\/h3>\n<p>Hovering over a region displays the following details of the current location:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The region name and response count.<\/li>\n<li>The metric score and the distribution of that score.<\/li>\n<li>The sentiment score, top themes, and top emotions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/mapus1.png\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"example-block-container blue-shade\">\n        <span class=\"example-block-content\"><span class=\"example-block-header\">For example:<\/span><br \/>\nWith <strong>NPS<\/strong> selected, click <strong>United States<\/strong> to view the following details:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Response Count:<\/strong> 964<\/li>\n<li><strong>NPS Score:<\/strong> 22.0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Promoters:<\/strong> 461 (47.8%)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Passives:<\/strong> 253 (26.2%)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Detractors:<\/strong> 250 (25.9%)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sentiment:<\/strong> 0.51 (Positive)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Top Theme:<\/strong> Performance (13)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Top Emotion:<\/strong> Satisfaction (556)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/span>\n  <\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"oe-drilling-down-through-geographic-levels\">Drilling down through geographic levels<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The map drills down as far as the available location data allows, through these levels: <strong>World &rarr; Country &rarr; State &rarr; County &rarr; ZIP\/Postal Code<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Each click drills one level deeper, and the breadcrumb at the top of the map updates (for example, <em>World &gt; United States of America &gt; California<\/em>).<\/li>\n<li>Use the breadcrumb to move back up to any higher level.<\/li>\n<li>When you reach a level with no deeper data, the card stops showing the &ldquo;click to drill down&rdquo; message.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/mapbreadcrumbs.gif\" \/><br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"section-4\">Metrics &amp; Colour Bands<\/h2>\n<p>Choose the metric from the selector at the top-right of the map. The legend and the breakdown both change to match the selected metric. In addition to IP address, you can map responses using another location identifier available in your data, giving you greater control over how locations are assigned. This is especially useful when IP address information is unavailable, inaccurate, or when your organization maintains reliable location data within its own systems.<\/p>\n<h3>Adding Identifiers<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>From your CX Dashboard, click the three-dot (<strong>&hellip;<\/strong>) menu at the top-right and select <strong>Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Map Settings<\/strong> from the Settings menu.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/cx_map_stg.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In Map Settings, you set up identifiers to associate feedback with geographic data. You can use the following identifier types for location assignment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>IP Address:<\/strong> Automatically determines a respondent&rsquo;s geographic location using the IP address captured at the time of response submission. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Tags:<\/strong> Determines location from the tags applied to responses. See <a href=\"#tags-location\" rel=\"noopener\">Using Tags as Identifiers<\/a> below.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Directory and Activity Fields:<\/strong> Derives location from a respondent or feedback recipient&#8217;s &rsquo;s directory profile, or from activity data fields that contain geographic information. See <a href=\"#directory-location\" rel=\"noopener\">Using Directory and Activity Fields as Identifiers<\/a> below.<\/li>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/add_identifier.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can select more than one method at a time.<\/p>\n<div class=\"sogo-help-info-box\">\n<i class=\"fal fa-info-circle\"><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"sogo-info-text\">When multiple methods are selected, you must define a preference order. If a response has location data from more than one method, the system uses whichever method ranks highest in your preference order.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 id=\"tags-location\">Using Tags as Identifiers<\/h3>\n<p>When Tags is selected as a location method, the system matches tag values against a predefined list of supported location names. Only tags that match this list are used to assign responses to geographic areas.<\/p>\n<p>To configure tag-based location assignment:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In Map Settings, click <strong>+ Add Another Identifier<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Tags<\/strong> from the available identifiers.<\/li>\n<li>Select the tag category that best represents your locations. The system evaluates the tags within the selected category and checks whether each tag value matches a recognized geographic location.<\/li>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/map_tag1.png\" \/><\/p>\n<li>If a tag value matches a recognized location, the associated responses are automatically mapped and will appear on the map once you click <strong>Add Identifier<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If any tag values cannot be matched to a location, a <strong>View Unmapped Values<\/strong> link appears below the added identifier.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>View Unmapped Values<\/strong> and manually assign a location to each unmapped tag. As you begin typing, a list of suggested locations appears. Be sure to select a location from the suggested list.<\/li>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/map_tag2.png\" \/><\/p>\n<li>As valid locations are assigned, the corresponding tags are moved to the <strong>Manually Mapped Locations<\/strong> section.<\/li>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/map_tag.gif\" \/><\/p>\n<li>After all locations have been assigned, click <strong>Add Identifier<\/strong>. The map refreshes and displays data based on the updated mapping configuration.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 id=\"directory-location\">Using Directory and Activity Fields as Identifiers<\/h3>\n<p>When using Respondent Directory Fields, Feedback Recipient Directory Fields, or Activity Fields as a location identifier, the system evaluates the selected field values and checks whether they match recognized geographic locations.
