This dropdown opens by default when the widget is placed.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/CTW3.gif\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Configure Cross Tab<\/strong> to open the variable configuration panel, where rows, columns, and cell values are defined.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/CTW4.gif\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Assign variables to the <strong>Rows<\/strong> and <strong>Columns<\/strong> areas by dragging them from the left panel. Refer to the <a href=\"#section-2\" rel=\"noopener\">Configure Cross Tab Variables<\/a> section below for detailed guidance.<\/li>\n<li>Define the <strong>Cell Values<\/strong> to display (for example, Response Count, Percentage, Weighted Score). Refer to the <a href=\"#section-3\" rel=\"noopener\">Cell Values<\/a> section below.<\/li>\n<li>Select a <strong>Display Format<\/strong> if the default Rows and Columns layout does not meet your requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Configure <strong>Advanced Settings<\/strong>, <strong>Filters<\/strong>, and <strong>Segmentation<\/strong> as required.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Save<\/strong> to apply the configuration.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"example-block-container blue-shade\">\n        <span class=\"example-block-content\"><span class=\"example-block-header\">For example:<\/span><br \/>\nA product manager needs to determine how satisfaction ratings differ across age groups. By assigning the satisfaction question to the rows and the demographics question (age group) to the columns, the Cross Tab Widget produces a matrix that surfaces which segments report the highest and lowest satisfaction \u2014 all within a single widget.<br \/>\n<\/span>\n  <\/div>\n<h2 id=\"section-2\">Configure Cross Tab Variables<\/h2>\n<p>The configuration panel presents available variables on the left and designated Rows and Columns drop zones on the right. Assign variables by dragging them from the left panel into the appropriate area.<\/p>\n<p>Variables can be sourced from four categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Questions:<\/strong> All supported question types from the selected project. Displayed by default.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Metadata:<\/strong> Language of participation, survey access channel, and response period (by month, quarter, or year).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Contact Fields:<\/strong> Fields from a linked Custom Directory. Select the target directory first, then choose from the available contact fields.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Activity Fields:<\/strong> Fields from a linked directory and activity. Select the directory and activity first, then choose from the available fields.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/CTW5.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To switch between variable categories, select the category label at the top of the left panel. Variables already assigned to Rows or Columns are retained when switching categories.<\/p>\n<p>The following capabilities are available when working with variables:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Multi-select variables using <strong>Shift<\/strong> (contiguous range) or <strong>Ctrl\/Command<\/strong> (individual selection), then drag the group into the target area.<\/li>\n<li>The same variable can be assigned multiple times across rows and columns.<\/li>\n<li>A maximum of 10 variables can be assigned to each row or column group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On hover, each added variable displays the following options:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style: lower-alpha;\">\n<li><strong>Edit Label:<\/strong> Rename the variable&#8217;s display text. Saves on focus out.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Edit Answer Options:<\/strong> Hide, merge, or exclude specific answer options. View change history.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Rearrange:<\/strong> Drag to reorder the variable within its row or column group.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Remove:<\/strong> Click the close button to remove the variable.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/CTW6.gif\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"sogo-help-info-box\">\n<i class=\"fal fa-info-circle\"><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"sogo-info-text\"> For Contact Fields and Activity Fields, a maximum of 250 unique values are displayed in the cross tab. Values can be hidden, merged, or excluded using the <strong>Edit Answer Options<\/strong> panel.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"section-3\">Cell Values<\/h2>\n<p>Cell values determine what data is displayed in each cell of the cross tab. By default, <strong>Response Count<\/strong> is selected. Multiple cell values can be added to compare different metrics side by side.<\/p>\n<p>Available cell value types:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Response Count:<\/strong> Number of responses per cell. Can be filtered by specific answer options.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Percentage:<\/strong> % in Columns or % in Rows.<\/li>\n<li><strong>For Numeric Questions:<\/strong> Sum, Average, Mode, Median, Minimum, Maximum, Standard Deviation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>For Rating Questions:<\/strong> Weighted Score, Weighted Score as Percentage, Net Score, Percent Favorable.<\/li>\n<li><strong>For Metric Questions:<\/strong> NPS, CSAT, CES.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/CTW7.gif\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To manage cell values:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click the <strong>+<\/strong> button next to Cell Values to add additional metrics. New cell values default to the most recently selected type.<\/li>\n<li>Click the delete icon on a cell value to remove it. No confirmation is required.<\/li>\n<li>If multiple questions are selected, use the <strong>Split<\/strong> option to create individual cell values for each question.<\/li>\n<li>Cell values can be displayed <strong>As Columns<\/strong> or <strong>As Rows<\/strong>, depending on the preferred layout.<\/li>\n<li>On hover, each cell value shows options to rearrange, remove, or <strong>Configure Cell Value<\/strong> (adjust decimal places).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/CTW8.gif\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"sogo-help-info-box\">\n<i class=\"fal fa-info-circle\"><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"sogo-info-text\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> Up to 20 cell values can be added to a single Cross Tab Widget. At least one cell value must remain selected at all times.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"section-4\">Display Format<\/h2>\n<p>The Display Format controls how rows and columns are structured. Three options are available:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Rows and Columns:<\/strong> The default layout. Variables are placed along rows and columns in a standard cross-tabulation grid.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Rows and Sub-Rows:<\/strong> Adds a sub-row level beneath the primary rows, creating a two-level cross tab. One variable can be added to the sub-row area. Cell values are displayed as columns in this format.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Columns and Sub-Columns:<\/strong> Adds a sub-column level next to the primary columns. One variable can be added to the sub-column area. Cell values are displayed as rows in this format.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/CTW9.png\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"sogo-help-info-box\">\n<i class=\"fal fa-info-circle\"><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"sogo-info-text\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> Only one variable can be added to a sub-row or sub-column. The same variable cannot appear in both the primary row\/column and its corresponding sub-row\/sub-column.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"section-5\">Advanced Settings<\/h2>\n<p>The following options are available under <strong>Advanced Settings<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style: lower-alpha;\">\n<li><strong>Freeze Columns or Rows:<\/strong> Freeze the top row, the first column, or both to keep headers visible while scrolling. Both are enabled by default.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Decimal Places:<\/strong> Set the number of decimal places for Weighted Score and Percent metrics independently. Decimal places are always 0 for Response Count.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Include &#8216;Did Not Answer&#8217;:<\/strong> Include participants who skipped the question. Can be enabled separately for rows and columns.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Show &#8216;Total Responses&#8217;:<\/strong> Display a total row, total column, or both.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Show &#8216;Overall&#8217; Metric:<\/strong> Display the overall metric for rows, columns, or both. Labels can be customized.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Display Answers with &#8216;0&#8217; Responses:<\/strong> When disabled, rows or columns with no responses are hidden from the cross tab.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Include &#8216;Incomplete Responses&#8217;:<\/strong> When enabled, partial submissions are included.
